Remember those who are in prison as if you were in prison with them. Remember those who are suffering as if you were suffering with them. (Hebrews 13:3)
Easter is one of the most special times of year for Christians all over the world; time for us to remember the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Yet because of the significance of Easter, Christian communities are often targeted at this time of year.
For countless Christians around the world, practising their faith puts them at risk of harassment, threats or violence.
‘They had informed my family that I am badly injured and would not survive, but God gave me a new life’
On 27 March 2016, Easter Sunday, a suicide bomb attack targeting the Christian community in Pakistan killed over 72 people and injured around 300.
Five years on from this tragedy, the survivors are still waiting for justice. Yet many of them have amazing testimonies of healing and provision. We spoke to four survivors who told us how God has been working in their lives.
Qaiser, 31, told us, ‘They had informed my family that I am badly injured and would not survive, but God gave me a new life.’

And may you and your loved ones be filled with renewed joy as you celebrate the most extraordinary and hopeful story of all time - that of our Lord’s resurrection from the dead.
In summary, please pray:
- Thanking God for his provision for the survivors of the Lahore, Pakistan, bombing in 2016.
- Asking God to comfort those who still mourn the loss of their loved ones, and to bring justice quickly.
- For survivors of attacks targeting churches at Easter in other countries, including devastating attacks in Sri Lanka two years ago and the attack on a Catholic church in eastern Indonesia just a week ago on Palm Sunday.
- Asking God to protect all Christian communities around the world who are vulnerable to attacks during their Easter celebrations
