Wife & Son of Li Baiguang Now In USA
Hanmei "Hannah" Xu and Qingxin "Pure Heart" Li, the wife and son of famous Chinese human rights attorney Dr. Li Baiguang, who died under suspicious circumstances in 2018, have escaped to the United States.
Wife Hannah Xu said "After much suffering in China, with the help of ChinaAid and Voice of the Martyrs Korea, we are glad to finally arrive in the USA, land of freedom. We thank all brothers, sisters, and other friends of the international community who have been praying and caring about Li Baiguang and our whole family.”
Pray for Hannah and Pure Heart as they start a new life of freedom in the USA.
Vatican Approves Reassignment of Bishop
In a mid-July statement, the Vatican said Pope Francis had approved China's unilateral assignment of Joseph Shen Bin as the new bishop of the Shanghai Diocese.
The Vatican did express surprise China did not consult with the Vatican before the move, violating an agreement on the appointment of bishops. Here's more on the Vatican-China agreement.
Pray for all Catholics across China and their persecutors.
Trial Set For Church Leaders
Several leaders of Golden Lampstand Church in Linfen are now awaiting a trial on August 21st. Officials have charged these leaders with fraud, a common tactic by CCP to suppress Christian churches.
In January 2018, the church building was forcibly demolished with heavy machines and dynamite. Read more about the false accusations against this church.
Pray for all Golden Lampstand Church members and their persecutors.
