Guangzhou Bible Reformed banned
ChinaAid received news that local officials in Guangdong province banned Guangzhou Bible Reformed Church on August 24th. This church has been harshly persecuted for years due to the leadership's refusal to join state-sanctioned Christian movements. In late June, Pastor Huang Xiaoning's house was cut from electricity, and the keyhole to his door was blocked. More on the CCP's unified approach to ban house churches.

Bishop charged with impersonation
Bishop Yang Xiaoming was charged and penalized due to his refusal to join the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association. Fr. Yang was charged with "impersonating religious personnel" even though local officials said his certificate of ordination was authentic. More on the CCP's crackdown against Catholics.

ChinaAid's voice heard in Taiwan
Thank you to everyone who prayed for the ChinaAid team and other delegates at the 2023 Taiwan International Religious Freedom Summit earlier in September! ChinaAid President Bob Fu spoke at the event on the importance of religious freedom and emphasized the value of prayer when encouraging attendees about how they can stand with the persecuted.
