Iran (MNN) == On Friday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameini delivered a sermon calling for Muslim nations to unite against Israel. But what are the people of Iran saying?

“The vast majority of Iranian people do not want their government to meddle into regional geopolitical affairs at their cost. They also don’t want to see Iran as an Islamic state,” says Mike Ansari with Heart4Iran.

“The Iranian people are already facing economic hardship due to gross economic mismanagement by their governmental officials. In short, average Iranians don’t want a war with Israel, but welcome any opportunity to usher in a season of change simply because they are hoping for a better life.”

The constant threat of war stirs up anxiety and fear among Iranians. This could lead to social unrest, which Ansari says the nation’s regime is not prepared to handle on top of the potential active conflict with Israel.

“We are praying more than ever before and asking the global body of Christ to pray for the region,” Ansari says. “We plan to go live daily into Iran via Mohabat TV, our satellite channel, with the aim to pray with Iranians.”

Pray with Heart4Iran for gospel hope to flood the nation.

“Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’ For Iranians affected by the escalating conflict with Israel, these words offer solace and promise of peace and hope that transcends circumstances,” says Ansari.

“Pray for the Iranian people [by] asking God to provide for their needs, protect them from harm, grant them peace in their hearts. Pray also for [their] hearts to be open to the message of the gospel, and for many to come to know Jesus as their Savior.”

He shares several more prayer requests.

“Pray for the workers and volunteers involved in Heart4Iran to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to remain strong in their faith, to be effective witnesses of Christ’s love.

“Pray for an end to the violence and conflict. Pray for the leaders of Iran to seek [a] peaceful resolution that benefits their people.”
