An Answered Prayer
Vanh’s most prized possession was her Bible. In Laos, where she lives, most believers are persecuted by family members or village authorities who are concerned that Christians offend the spirits. When Vanh became a believer in Christ, her husband divorced her, driving her and their children from the house. But with help from the global body of Christ, they were able to build a hut to live in. Their situation improved, but Vanh continued to face harassment from others in the community. On Dec. 2, 2024, while she was out working her fields, someone entered Vanh’s hut and took her Bible. Filled with grief, she prayed to God for a new one. When a front-line worker and his wife visited Vanh two weeks later, they happened to be carrying an extra Bible with them, which they gave to her. Vanh was thrilled to have access to the Word of God once again. She cried tears of joy as she told the visitors how they were God’s answer to her prayers. We invite you to help send Bibles to persecuted believers, like Vanh, who eagerly seek God’s Word and follow Christ at any cost.
You can help send God’s Word to persecuted Christians living in the world’s most difficult and dangerous places to follow Christ. We know 458,000 brothers and sisters in Christ by name who need Bibles right now. They live in hostile areas and restricted nations where Bibles are difficult to obtain or illegal to own. You can join in the effort to send God’s Word to them.
