BEYOND THANKSGIVING
ACTS 17:24–25
24-“The GOD who made the world and everything in it is the LORD of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25-And HE is not served by human hands, as if HE needed anything. Rather, HE HIMSELF GIVES EVERYONE LIFE AND BREATH AND EVERYTHING ELSE.”
Thanksgiving is meant to fuel our faith in GOD and deepen our love for GOD, who is the Great Giver and Provider of everything we need for life and godliness. With grateful hearts we look back to remind ourselves of His faithfulness, His grace and the myriad of ways the LORD has helped us when no one seemed to care. All these are to serve as our launching pad to propel us to greater faith as we grow and mature through life’s journey.
GOD has designed for us as His redeemed ones to build up, strengthen and spread the fragrance of His great plan of salvation. He’s got so much in store that no mind can conceive what awaits those who love and serve His purposes and embrace His will! GOD in CHRIST wants us to include Him in every plan we have, not just for the present moment but more importantly for our eternal destiny. The Bible exhorts us to give Him thanks in everything for that is His will for us in CHRIST JESUS! Let’s not stop giving Him thanks, recognition and appreciation for all that He is to us. As we move on with life, we must remember that every good that will come and happen to us rests entirely on the merits of His goodness and grace. You and I cannot add and do anything to deserve Him!
So, let us get into the attitude and habit of being grateful for everything He has freely given us in CHRIST JESUS. It’s a great way to start, live, and end each day...for in Him we live and move and have our being!
