2 CORINTHIANS 12:9
but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of CHRIST [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.
GOD is so gracious to provide strength when it is needed so that we can find our identity, our confidence, our contentment and our security in Him. This is what GOD meant when He said that His grace is sufficient—it is enough and it’s all we need.
In 2 Corinthians 12:1 St. Paul provides an example of how a person should not find his or her identity and confidence in personal achievements because only GOD’s grace is sufficient. While showing mercy means not giving to someone what he does deserve, showing grace means giving to someone what he doesn’t deserve. GOD shows grace in giving us life through faith in JESUS CHRIST…and His grace provides for us and strengthens us for daily living. GOD’s grace is sufficient—it is more than enough, it never runs out and it’s all we need!
Prayer:
FATHER GOD, as JESUS states to Paul in his time of need, so do I remind myself: Your grace is sufficient for me. Whether in wealth or poverty, hunger or feasting, I will, like the apostle, boast in my weaknesses. For it is my weaknesses, LORD, that make Your grace manifest even more so in my life. In my life thus far, I have been upheld by this grace You supply – thank You, dear FATHER. Praying in the Name of JESUS CHRIST, I praise You forever. Amen.
His Grace Is Enough,
