Hebrews 13:8
As has just been said: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.”
Believers must hold their confidence firmly to the end and not, like the Israelites of old, harden their hearts as when they provoked the LORD. In Hebrews 3:15, stress is once again laid on the present time of opportunity, TODAY, IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE! It’s a repeat of what the psalmist wrote in Psalm 95 which is a call to holiness. We must listen with our hearts to hear the LORD’s voice. WHAT are some signs of a hardened heart?
•Lack of ability to perceive, remember, or grasp events or ideas coming from GOD.
•Insensitivity to sin, sinfulness.
•Failure to follow GOD’s commands, the way of JESUS, the voice of the HOLY SPIRIT.
•Arrogance and pride.
And hearing the LORD,
we are called to respond with humility, recognition, confession and renunciation of sin, seeking and turning to GOD for grace, mercy and compassion from our own hearts. It’s a call to live a life of righteousness that honors, obeys, pleases and serves GOD for His praise and glory. —Where are we today in our spiritual journey? What holds us back from living a pure and consecrated life? Why is there so much chaos in today’s society, fear in people’s hearts?
I say it’s time to repent and seek GOD’s intervention and listen to what the HOLY SPIRIT is saying.
Pray, meditate on His Word, and stay in fellowship one with another. These are the things that GOD desires of us!! JESUS IS COMING SOON!!
Prayer:
FATHER GOD, thank You for Your Word and call for us to remain humble, pure and holy in Your sight. Thank You for showing us Your goodness and kindness, mercy and grace through the life and sacrifice of JESUS Your Son. Thank You for the In dwelling presence and power of the HOLY SPIRIT. Watch over us, and help us to remain committed and faithful to You, in the Name of JESUS.
AMEN!
Praying For You,
Pastor Wally & Sister Mattie
