MATTHEW 4:17
“From that time JESUS began to preach, saying “Repent (ask forgiveness of your sins) and turn to GOD, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. ”
Repentance is essential for experiencing the presence and grace of GOD. It involves changing the mind in order to reverse direction. It is the inner resolve and determination to turn from sin and turn to GOD. So what’s the motivation for repenting? The kingdom of heaven has come near.
The initial phase in turning to GOD is to concede and confess our wrongdoing, our sins. Then, at that point, GOD will get us and help us to live in the way He wants us to live on this earth. Where after our life here, He can finally bring us to His kingdom in Heaven, and enjoy the eternal life that GOD has prepared for us who’ve heard, acknowledged and believed in His Son, JESUS CHRIST!
Prayer:
Dear GOD in Heaven, I confess and I recognize that I have sinned against you, my own self, my family and others. Please forgive me and make me the kind of person You want me to be. Help me to get to know You more, Your plans, Your purpose, and Your will for my life. I pray this in the most excellent Name of JESUS. Amen.
