2 CORINTHIANS 4:7
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that this all surpassing power is from GOD and not from us.”
This Bible verse reminds us of the goodness and grace of our ABBA FATHER. The world around us may see us as ordinary, plain, invaluable, and disposable. But GOD who created all things visible and invisible sees us differently.
He is not impressed by our outward appearance. He looks at the heart and He knows that we are likened to jars of clay (from dust you came, to dust you will return). And yet the LORD reached out to us despite our own imperfections, weaknesses, and unrighteousness. JESUS came and gave Himself for us taking our place on the cross that we may find forgiveness, love, acceptance, salvation and enjoy eternal life even in the face of our struggles!
We are valued by our creator GOD! And because we are now His new creation in CHRIST, He chose to deposit in us this treasure which is the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST! We may be hard pressed on every side but not crushed, struck down but not destroyed, persecuted but not abandoned. And no matter what life throws at us, we have this TREASURE within us that remains unmarred, unchanged, uncrushed, unmarked, and untouched! GOD makes us, molds us, transforms us and makes us resilient to stand against everything that comes against us! All of us have had our own taste of circumstances that caused us tremendous hardship, stress, and anxiety. GOD knows, He sees our frailties, and our neediness. Yes, we are earthen vessels but we have been given this TREASURE to show that this all-surpassing POWER that enables us to overcome is from GOD and not from us. GOD, in and through CHRIST, empowers us to gain the upper hand in real life because greater is He who is in us than he that is in this world! In CHRIST we are more than conquerors in the battlefields of life! Rejoice and be glad, this GOD-given TREASURE is ours to enjoy from here to eternity!
Prayer:
Thank You, ABBA FATHER, for depositing in us the treasure of the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST! May You show us the power that’s able to deliver us from life’s trials, and may we rise up each day praying, praising and honoring You for all You’ve done for us, in JESUS’ mighty Name. Amen.
