Psalm 119:50
“This is my comfort in my affliction, that Your Word has revived me”
Psalm 119:67
“Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word”
Psalm 119:71
“It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes”
The word affliction can mean just about anything in life that causes great suffering. All of us have had our own portions of afflictions that’s brought tremendous discomfort and pain. But GOD comforts us through the Bible, the Word of GOD, and even through caring family and friends. In the Bible, we find all sorts of promises we take to heart and try to keep in mind. We learn that GOD cares for us and that HE will not leave us or forsake us and that HIS grace is always sufficient for us. The LORD loves those who belong to HIM, and HE has great compassion on us. HE is our ABBA FATHER who cares and comforts us in all our afflictions.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“Blessed be the GOD and FATHER of our Lord JESUS CHRIST, the FATHER of mercies and GOD of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any affliction, through the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of GOD.”
Prayer:
Dear ABBA GOD, we praise and thank You that you are, in Your might, in Your power, in Your sovereignty, You are not far from us, that You are close to us, that You are the defender of the weak and the FATHER to the fatherless and the GOD who is our comfort and helper in the midst of our afflictions We glorify and honor You for the Almighty GOD that You are to us, in us, and for us. In JESUS’ marvelous Name. Amen.
Forever Grateful,
