Ephesians 4:29
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear,"
Ephesians 4:29 reminds us that our words have power, not just to convey information, but to build up or tear down, to bless or wound. Instead of letting our mouths become channels for negativity or gossip, we are called to be mindful of our speech and use it to encourage, uplift, and edify others. Let's strive to be a source of grace and comfort through our words, reflecting the love and kindness of GOD.
Our Bible verse for today calls us to speak words that are “GOOD FOR BUILDING UP” and “GIVE GRACE TO THOSE WHO HEAR,” urging us to avoid corrupting talk.
Prayer:
Heavenly FATHER, thank YOU for the gift of speech, and for reminding us in Ephesians 4:29 to use it wisely and for good. Help us to be mindful of the power of our words and to choose to speak words that build up, encourage, and bring grace to those around us. May our mouths be a source of comfort, not negativity, and may our words reflect your love and compassion. Help us to be a blessing to others through our spoken words, in JESUS’ Gracious Name. Amen.
