Matthew 12:36–37  (ESV)
36 -“I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, 37-for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

These two Bible verses emphasize the accountability of our words, stating that on the Day of Judgment, we will give account for every careless word, and our words will either justify or condemn us.

Our words have power.
JESUS’ Words in Matthew 12:36-37 highlight the profound impact of our speech, both positive and negative. This passage serves as a call to introspection, urging us to consider the nature and content of our words, both spoken and unspoken. We must guard our words. Just as a person's heart reveals itself through their words, so too can our actions and speech reflect our inner state.  We are to speak Truth and Kindness. Let us strive to speak words that are truthful, kind, and uplifting, knowing that our words have the power to build up or tear down.

Prayer:
LORD GOD, help us to be mindful of our words:Grant us the wisdom and grace to speak thoughtfully and purposefully, avoiding careless or hurtful language. May our words reflect Your character:
May our speech be a reflection of Your love, compassion, and truth, as we strive to be a light in a world often shrouded in darkness.  - Please forgive our careless words: We ask for Your forgiveness for the times we have spoken carelessly or unkindly, and help us to learn from our mistakes.  Guide our tongues, and lead us to speak words that bring comfort, encouragement, and healing to those around us. In JESUS’ most Holy Name. Amen.
