A glimmer of "hope."

(ChinaAid—Feb. 15, 2021) In the following poem, to be included in Pastor John Cao's forthcoming book, Living Lyrics,* Pastor John recounts one of his questions to the Lord... the answer the Lord revealed to him.
In Prison
“Why am I in prison?”
I asked the Lord.
He answered:
“The Jing of flawless life needs to be eliminated,1
the narrow mind to be developed.
Due to the shallow understanding of the Word,2
these need to be widened by suffering
and in turn,
patience will grow.”
When the tribulation strikes,
I look closer to the Lord.
When minor troubles bother my mind,
I welcome the Holy Spirit.
No matter what empty promises
Satan makes to the world,3
in the end,
persecuted, Godly people
achieve the victory...4
whether in or outside
prison.
Notes:
1. Jing: lust.
2. Word is shallow: my spiritual life is in shallow status.
3. That is how Satan tempts people.
4. Godly people: See 2 Timothy 3:12

Yes,
and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus
will suffer persecution.
